I'm sure you all heard of the groundbreaking classic Wolfenstein 3-D, a game so incredibly revolutionary that practically created and/or set the standards for first-person shooting action. Yes, you heard that a thousand times.
All right, now this is a fan-made modified version of the old and good Wolf-3d. As the name implies, it's modified towards Mortal Kombat, the fighting classic from arcades and consoles. Hard to imagine? It's quite simple. The gameplay, the whole game, is mostly the same. But here, you play an MK character (probably Rayden, although you find some Rayden corpses throughout the game). Instead of shooting with a pistol, you start out shooting electric rays on enemies. As you pick up better "weapons" along the game, your rays get more effective. The maps are, as far as I remember, identical to the real Wolf-3d, although you find MK symbols all over the place. And the important enemies got replaced with pretty well done kombatants (Sub-Zero, Kano, Shang Tsung and many others), which is my favorite aspect of this version.
This game is very close to the original, and just as fun. In fact, the whole feel of the game didn't change much. The changes are obviously parodical, not exactly expanding the game in any way, only changing existant sceneries, enemies and attacks really.
So if you were ever a fan of Wolf-3d (who isn't?) or Mortal Kombat, you should give it a try even if just out of curiosity.
