It's certainly hard to write a sequel to something that broke all limits of its time, but Prince of Persia 2 remains true to its antecessor. It's a fun game that managed to improve the already good Prince of Persia engine, along with adding some new interesting puzzles and challenges.
So you and the princess are in trouble once again! After strucking down Jaffar, you married the beautiful princess of Persia... but a few days later, Jaffar manages to take your place and tries to have you imprisoned for entering the royal castle. You run! And once again, you have to find your way through all kinds of danger and win a duel against the vile former vizier. And it won't be easy.
In order to make this a fresh new game keeping the original gameplay, Brøderbund created a number of new enemies and traps to keep the Prince on his toes. Survivors from the first game will be familiar with the style and commands, but will surely be surprised with the first blades jumping from the walls :). Personally I think combat worked better in the first game, although it's supposed to be exactly the same here. I don't know, sometimes I think the Prince is not fast enough in the new game. But it's hardly noticeable.
I think the best advance from the first game is the way the story unfolds. Prince of Persia had simple cutscenes with no text that I can remember -- but it was still very good. Now Prince 2 has cooler cutscenes, with voice acting and great graphics. It's a fair addition to the classic and enjoyable Prince of Persia experience.
Other than this, there's not much to introduce. Anyone who liked (or loved, was addicted to) Prince of Persia should try Prince 2. It is similar to its antecessor, and I think, equally good. I better not spoil the game any more, you should try it right away :).
