I don't even know where to start... no matter what I say, I'll never be able to express what this game truly stands for.
This is simply a HUGE classic. The graphics are incredibly smooth, the combats and gameplay feel all too real, and the challenge is reasonable. Also, Prince of Persia is a very addictive game that glued hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of players to their screens for far too many nights when they should be doing something else. When DOS becomes totally forgotten by time, Prince of Persia will still be one of the best games ever made.
The plot is real cliché: you met with the princess of Persia and both fell in love with each other. That made the sultan's grand vizier Jaffar very angry, so he threw you in the castle dungeon, and locked up the princess. She had one hour decide to marry him or else... As I said before, the high points are the revolutionary graphics and sound effects for its time, along with being *very* addictive.
You start out in the lowest level of the castle dungeon, unarmed and quite lost. At first you seem to be locked up, but then you find that part of the ground is old and falling apart... so you begin your escape by wandering around the dungeon and looking for a sword. Once you have it, you can defend yourself from the dungeon guards in your way out, and you start trying to solve all the dungeon "puzzles", level by level, and it's a loooong way up.
By the middle of the game, when you think it begins to get repetitive, there are some little surprises that add greatly to the cinematic feel of the game. I can only add now, why aren't you playing already?
