After releasing 1991 classic Out of this world, Delphine Software introduced a whole new game with similar gameplay and fun factor: Flashback.

It all starts with you, Conrad B. Hart, trying to escape two assassins. They chase you and eventually hit your bike hard, causing you to crash. Now you can't remember who you are, or why they were after you in the first place -- and finding it out is only part of your adventure.

In terms of gameplay, Flashback is even closer to Prince of Persia than Out of this world ever was. The step by step gameplay, the precise jumps. Of course, it's another sci-fi, you won't duel with a sword or such. In Flashback, you start out with a pistol and near endless rounds to shoot.

Most surprises on this game are better if you see them yourself. Having been designed primarily for the consoles, it has good graphics and sounds, with nice cutscenes and a few interesting twists. The best part: the game will deliver all this in a challenging package that involves not just simple action, but also adventure elements to make it even more interesting.

This one is not a for a simple rainy afternoon. It will keep you immersed, tuned in. It's an excellent game, for more than just one kind of player -- even if not for everybody.
