Remember those top-down action games in which you controlled a single Rambo-like soldier that had the impossible mission of walking through endless jungles filled with all kinds (or only one kind) of enemies shooting at you for no reason? And you had to shoot back and kill them all, dodging their bullets (yeah, enemy fire was usually slower than your regular movement rate). There's plenty of games like that out there, for every possible platform, right? Most are just downright brainless and pointless.
Well, I think those games in some point evolved into Cannon fodder, which is good.
Here you'll command a small squad (up to four soldiers) in a number of missions (actually more than 70) through jungles, deserts and ice reaches, shooting enemy forces, blowing up bases, driving battle tanks... hmm that's pretty much it. The graphics are simple but nice, with cartoon-like soldiers and some cool effects on the field (like shooting enemies even after they're dead, or trampling them with a combat vehicle). Gameplay is very simple, just point and click and you move your squad around, shoot enemies and blow things up with explosives, you mostly don't even need the keyboard.
Other than that the game has some hilarious other features, you should try yourself. :) It's hard to believe, but Sensible Software made this one top-down jungle soldier action shine where others chose the same old (and pointless) repetitive ideas and boring gameplay. Check this out!
